Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Sell 12 Million Copies in One Quarter , Analyst Says
Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally been announced, and already players all over the globe are having high expectations in this much-awaited sequel. Just after the game has been officially announced, Macquarie Securities analyst Ben Schachter was reported to have released a note to investors which says that “the game should move 12 million units during Take-Two’s second fiscal quarter next year, which runs from July through September.”
Schachter said that a PC release in early 2018 will boost Red Dead Redemption 2’s total sales. This is based on 2010’s Red Dead Redemption’s sales which reached a total of 14 million copies shipped just a little over five years after it was launched.
Something that’s noteworthy is that just on the first hour after Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced, its post on Twitter got 54K likes and 61K retweets, 152K likes and 52K comments on Facebook, and 65K likes on Instagram.
These numbers just show how players are highly anticipating the game. “We think this demonstrates significant pent-up demand and interest for the sequel,” Schachter said.
